Matt Curtis is known for his work to create effective public policy solutions for the Innovation Economy and Local Government.

Matt Curtis has served as a Deputy to two Mayors and one Council Member where he worked on initiatives including the creation of best practices facing a local government in a rapidly changing city. He has also served as Director at the Central Texas transit authority where he piloted issues related to the region’s passenger rail and transit-oriented development.

He currently serves as Founder of Smart City Policy Group, a government and public solutions firm working to help cities and states create effective regulations for the Innovation Economy.

Matt previously served as Head of Global Government Affairs and Public Policy for HomeAway/Expedia. There he worked with governments and industry around the world to create best practices and effective policies. He served on the United States Conference of Mayors Business Council, the National League of Cities Corporate Council, the Sharing Economy Advisory Network, the Travel Technology Association board and served on the Vacation Rental Management Association board. Curtis understands that communities can achieve fair and effective policies through effective stakeholder engagement.
